The Competition

We're counting votes! We'll announce the winners of the 2012 Learning Competition on May 24, 2012.

The Learning Competition returns with a $125,000 pledge.

Canadian Blood Services is proud to announce that the Learning Competition returns February 3rd, 2012.

We will once again offer $125,000 to medical laboratory technologists who want to lead, inspire and support their colleagues interested in developing skills and knowledge in Transfusion Science. Whether it's a project to get your Antibody Club off and running, or other ways to support transfusion continuing education initiatives across the country, the Learning Competition Fund enables individuals and groups not only to submit an initiative for funding, but connect with others in making projects happen.

Launched in 2011, the Learning Competition has already provided funding to numerous transfusion community groups and individuals who want to make a difference.

Everyone is encouraged to submit their ideas on the competition’s website – www.bloodtechnet.ca. A panel of judges will select the best ideas to advance through to the next stage. MLTs will decide which projects will share in the Learning Competition Fund by casting their votes.

Are you ready to make a difference? Year two of the competition kicks off on February 3rd, 2012. Visit www.bloodtechnet.ca for news, competition updates and to learn more about how to get involved. Also visit, and Like, the BloodTechNet Facebook page for additional program information.
